Multi-platform reputation scan (2026-07, re-checked 2026-07-07)

Case-tracking update rather than a regular review (full detail in the Chinese edition). BabyCam Medical Consulting Group LLC, registered in Tbilisi's Krtsanisi district in March 2024, is the company at the center of the January 2025 forced egg-harvesting / trafficking case involving Thai women. Founder: Chinese national Tan Shu; his brother Tan Jo (spelled "Tan Zhuo" in Chinese-media reports) and Tan Shu's wife Li Yuan act as the company's representatives in Georgia — a family structure now corroborated by two independent outlets (Current Time and Initium Media, 2026-07-07 re-check). A December 2025 NYT Magazine investigation by Sarah A. Topol (six months of reporting) found dozens of Thai women — some of whom had applied for ordinary jobs such as restaurant cook — held for months with passports confiscated, verbally abused and restrained at clinics, with the most credible conclusion being that eggs were harvested without consent (Pulitzer Center index). Notably, no report — including the NYT investigation — has named the licensed IVF clinic or doctors who performed the retrievals; the only related lead is Georgia Today's naming of LeaderMed in connection with a Thai egg-donor confinement case (founder Khonelidze denies coercion; the link is unconfirmed — see our LeaderMed profile). As of 2026-07-07, searches across English, Russian and Georgian-English media (RFE/RL, OC Media, Civil.ge, Georgia Today) found no public reports of arrests, indictments, trials or verdicts against the company or its representatives; the Interior Ministry investigation under Article 143-3 of the Criminal Code (trafficking, up to 15 years) remains the last publicly known procedural status. Contrast case: the Kinderly founders were each sentenced to 10 years on 2026-06-30 (Civil Georgia), while this case — filed under a graver charge — has yet to reach open court. The 2025 US Trafficking in Persons Report (Georgia chapter) references Chinese traffickers fraudulently recruiting Thai women into forced labor via surrogacy, with Georgia retained at Tier 1 (per search excerpts; the report page itself was not directly retrievable — pending verification). Note the May 2025 trafficking-victim-status grants relate to the separate Kinderly case, not this one (Social Justice Center statement, 2025-12-19), and Georgia's 2023 draft law restricting surrogacy for foreigners remained suspended as of that statement. No consumer reviews of BabyCam exist on any platform (Trustpilot, Google Maps, Reddit, otzovik, Yandex, Xiaohongshu, Zhihu) — it never operated as a client-facing brand — and no evidence was found of a rebrand or successor entity, including in Chinese-language agent channels.
